All the information you need to know about Utilita Ampthill Fireworks 2023

What – Where does the money go?

Utilita Ampthill Fireworks is an annual community fireworks display run on a not-for-profit basis with any remaining funds from the event been distributed to local charities. See our ‘Donations’ page for the last years donations to local organisations and charities. The display includes a pre-show of live acts, a fairground and various food outlets. The event caters for all ages and is family friendly with no alcohol or sparklers allowed in the park. Since 2011, the event has been managed by a core team of dedicated local volunteers.

Where – Find out where the display will be

The display is held at Ampthill Park, Woburn Road in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. Click the ‘Find Us’ tab at the top of the page for more details on how to get to Ampthill, the closest transport links and the various entrances to the park.

When – So what time does it all kick off?

This year’s fireworks display will be held on Friday 3rd November 2023. The gates open at 6:00pm, pre-show entertainment starts at 6:30pm, lighting of The Ampthill Beacon at 7:30pm and this year the main fireworks will start at the earlier time of 7.45pm.

Who – The Committee and Volunteers

Ampthill Fireworks is run by a core committee of dedicated individuals the events operation is owed to the priceless number of local volunteers which support the display in such areas as security, stewarding and site management on the night.

Food/Toilets – New and improved offering

Save some room for some lovely food! This year we have completely overhauled and improved our food offering with plenty of outlets selling food. There will also be more toilets this year.

The Site – Want to know a bit more?

The site will be accessible for disabled people and a designated viewing area provided. Parking will be available at £5.00 (CASH ONLY) per car. This is a family event, and therefore no alcohol, fireworks, sparklers or dogs (except for registered guide or hearing dogs) will be allowed in. The grounds will be patrolled by stewards and if you are in need of further information or assistance please feel free to ask one for help during the event.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements?

No – But children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18.

How do I get to the event?

What can’t I bring into the event?

Ticket holders are prohibited from bringing any items banned by Ampthill Park by-laws to any Event. For the avoidance of doubt the following items are strictly prohibited; weapons, flares, fireworks (including sparklers), barbeques, Chinese lanterns, noise generators, horns, lasers and drones.

Furthermore NO ALCHOL is permitted in Ampthill Park or at the Event. NO DOGS except for registered guide or hearing dogs are allowed in the Event arena. No tents permitted in Ampthill Park.

***Due to the current security state no backpacks will be allowed into the event, small bags ONLY and please allow additional time as searches will be conducted.***
